Description
Jarrah Honey Royal Reserve is the jar we bring out when someone says they’ve tried every honey — bottled by Melisseus from only the most outstanding batches of each Western Australian harvest.
Jarrah honey comes from the blossom of the jarrah tree (Eucalyptus marginata) in the forests of WA’s south west, and it tastes like nowhere else: deep amber in the jar, with caramel and molasses running through a smooth, full-bodied malt flavour. This reserve is raw and only coarsely filtered, so what you spoon out is what the bees made.
How we eat it
- Thickly, on good sourdough toast
- Stirred through hot porridge on a cold morning
- Beside a cheese board, where the malt notes shine
- Honestly? Straight from the spoon
From the jarrah forests of Western Australia
Every jar is Realsource certified — single-batch honey that can be traced securely back to its origin — and every batch is independently laboratory tested with the results published online: a Total Activity rating of 18+, a manual pollen count confirming jarrah as the primary nectar source, and readings that verify the honey is raw and unprocessed. They call jarrah the King of Honey; this is the king at his best.

Frequently asked questions
What is Jarrah honey?
Jarrah honey is gathered from the Jarrah forests (Eucalyptus marginata) of Western Australia's south west. The Melisseus Royal Reserve is bottled from only the most outstanding batches of each harvest — raw, coarse filtered and always 100% authentic, presented in a 450 g glass jar.
What does the TA 18+ rating mean?
TA stands for Total Activity, a laboratory-measured grading applied to Western Australian honeys — the higher the number, the higher the measured activity. This Royal Reserve batch carries a TA rating of 18+, verified by independent laboratory testing.
How do I know this Jarrah honey is raw and authentic?
Every jar is Realsource certified: single-batch honey that can be securely traced back to its origin, with laboratory results published online. This batch shows an HMF of 5.4 parts per million — a reading under about 10 shows the honey is raw and unprocessed — and a manual Jarrah pollen count of 61%, confirming the Jarrah tree as the primary nectar source.
What does Jarrah honey taste like?
Expect a deep amber honey with caramel and molasses notes and a smooth, strong, full-bodied malt flavour. It is wonderful on sourdough, stirred through porridge, or straight from the spoon.
How should I store raw honey?
Keep the jar in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight with the lid tightly closed. There is no need to refrigerate honey — the pantry is its natural home.
