Hubert Gourmet Pty Ltd (ABN 40 627 453 507) (“Hubert Gourmet”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website at hubertgourmet.com.au and through our day-to-day business operations, how we use it, and who we share it with. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

When you place an order or create an account we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and your order history. When you contact us or request wholesale information we collect the details you provide in that enquiry.

Payments. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card details on our servers — Stripe handles that as our payment processor.

When you visit the site we (or third-party services we use) may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, referring page and pages visited. How non-essential analytics cookies are handled depends on where you are: visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent banner and these cookies are only set after consent is given; visitors elsewhere (including Australia) have analytics enabled by default, with this Privacy Policy serving as the collection notice. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.

How we use your information

  • To process, deliver and provide support for the orders you place.
  • To respond to your enquiries and wholesale requests.
  • To keep records required for tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website, our products and the customer experience (including aggregated analytics).
  • To send marketing communications — only where you have opted in — which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the third parties we rely on to run our business, and only to the extent needed:

  • Stripe — our payment processor, to take and secure your payment.
  • Delivery partners — including Australia Post and other couriers, to fulfil and deliver your order.
  • Google — we use Google services (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) to understand how the site is used. Where we advertise or list products, Google may also process related data.
  • Microsoft Clarity — we use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics and session-replay service, to view aggregated heatmaps and anonymised recordings of how visitors interact with the site so we can improve it. Clarity is configured to mask text and the details you enter (such as your name, email, phone number and payment information), so personal information is not captured in recordings. It follows the same consent model as our other analytics (see “Cookies and similar technologies” below): enabled by default in Australia, with this policy as the collection notice, and loaded only after consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Microsoft may process this data on servers outside Australia.
  • Our customer-relationship management (CRM) and email-marketing tools — used to receive and manage your enquiries and, where you have opted in, to send you updates and offers.
  • Our website hosting provider — which may process technical request data such as IP addresses and user-agent strings.
  • Law enforcement and regulators — where we are required to disclose information by law, a court order or other legal process, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the store, remember your preferences (such as the contents of your cart), and measure how the site is used. These include:

  • Essential / functional cookies — set by WooCommerce to operate the cart, checkout and your account. These are required for the site to work and are not used for tracking.
  • Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) — to understand site usage.
  • Microsoft Clarity — session-replay and heatmap analytics, configured to mask personal details.

Analytics cookies are managed through Google Consent Mode: in the EEA, UK and Switzerland they are blocked until you consent via our banner; elsewhere (including Australia) they are enabled by default. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information for as long as it is needed to provide our products and services to you, to maintain our relationship with you, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

International transfers

Some of the third-party providers we use (including Google, Microsoft Clarity, Stripe and our hosting and analytics providers) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this is the case we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you (APP 12) and to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading (APP 13). To make a request, contact us using the details below.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Children’s privacy

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, and changes are effective as soon as they are posted. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
