Sticky chai is a style of chai (spiced tea) where the tea leaves and spices are coated in a natural sweetener—usually something like honey, coconut nectar, or maple syrup—to create a moist, sticky texture. It originated in Australian cafés and has become popular for its richer flavour and café-style brewing experience.

What makes sticky chai unique?

Coated in sweetener
The tea and spices are mixed with a syrup or nectar, which helps bind the ingredients and enhances both sweetness and aroma.

More aromatic and flavourful
The sticky coating draws out the essential oils from spices like cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and star anise, resulting in a deeper, more rounded chai.

Easy to brew café-style
Simply simmer the sticky blend with milk (or a milk alternative) to create a creamy, fragrant chai latte.

Looks rustic and artisanal
The glossy, sticky texture makes it feel more handcrafted compared to dry chai blends.

Why people love it

It’s indulgent, aromatic, and feels like a treat—perfect for cozy moments, slow mornings, or café-style drinks at home.
