Description
Cucumber Wasabi Flavour Pearls are the quiet showstopper of the range: cool, fresh cucumber up front, then a clean flick of wasabi warmth just as the pearl pops.
Each tiny bead carries a liquid centre, so the flavour arrives in a burst rather than a smear — refreshing first, gently peppery after. They’re striking to look at and they hold together on hot, cold and frozen plates alike, which means you can finish a steaming bowl or a chilled platter with equal confidence. There’s no alcohol in the jar either, so every guest is covered.
Where they shine
- Over sashimi, oysters and dressed seafood platters
- Floated on a chilled soup for colour and bite
- Tossed through salads — the leaves stay crisp
- Three or four pearls on a canapé is all the impact you need
Handmade in Victoria
These pearls are made by hand in Victoria by Peninsula Larder, the small producer behind our entire flavour pearl collection. Vegan, gluten free and dairy free, they stretch remarkably well too: a couple of grams per plate counts as a serve, so one jar dresses an awful lot of dishes before it runs dry.

Frequently asked questions
What do cucumber wasabi pearls taste like?
A fresh, intense cucumber flavour with a wasabi lift — cool first, then a gentle kick. Each pearl bursts like tiny caviar, making a striking garnish that is as much fun to look at as to eat.
What food do cucumber wasabi pearls go with?
They are stunning with seafood and fish, brilliant on salads (which stay crisp) and soups, and surprisingly good with cheese, antipasto and meats. Allow about 10 pearls (2–3 grams) per serve — a canapé needs only a few for impact.
Are these pearls vegan and alcohol free?
Yes — cucumber wasabi flavour pearls are vegan, gluten free, dairy free and alcohol free, so they suit almost every guest at the table.
Where are cucumber wasabi pearls made?
They are handmade in Victoria, Australia, by the maker behind the Peninsula Larder range that won a Bronze Medal at the 2018 Australian Food Awards.
How should I store the jar?
Refrigerate after opening. Each 50g jar holds more than 160 pearls, and they hold their shape on hot, cold or frozen dishes without melting or dissolving.
