Sarina Kamini Chilli Masala
Sarina Kamini Chilli Masala is a bottle of subdued flame and smoulder that lights up the pan and the palate with heat and height. Chilli’s ‘hero’ spice quality is pushed forward by the sulphuric intensity of Indian black salt. Ground jaggery is an Ayurvedic burst of low GI energy shooting light and sweetness through the heat produced by this trio of chilles – hot ground, Kashmiri red and dried flakes. Cumin seed is a welcome dose of grounding earth. This is a subtly fiery masala with a fine texture suited to marriage with nightshade vegetables and sweet, slow-cooked meats. Boost the heat with fresh dried chilli, onion and garlic. Ghee lengthens and slows the heat. Coconut oil increases the burn. Olive oil thins and fires the blend’s low-flame.
With these masala blends Sarina Kamini aim to introduce you to the transformative power of spice. Each masala is blended around a ‘hero’ spice. Turmeric. Chilli. Cinnamon. Cumin. Each of these hero spices offer up, not just different flavour profiles, but different body benefits and stimulus.
These masala blends are hand blended and bottled in Margaret River from mostly organic spice.
